I'm currently in Nepal and making future travel plans. I came across a cheap flight to Amman and am seriously considering going for it in the next couple of weeks. I hadn't previously considered Jordan, but was looking at places in the Mediterranean and Jordan sounds like a great place to stop on the way to other destinations. I checked weather and it looks relatively mild right now, and as best I know it is safe to travel and not affected by the other security issues going on in that region…

My friend I will be in Jordan for 2 weeks in October. We plan to be initially in Amman for several days, to use as base for North Jordan sightseeing, then travel to Petra and Wadi Rum for a few days and final be in Aqaba for several days, again use as a base for Southern Jordan sightseeing. We don't plan to drive in Amman.

We are considering rental a car compared to hiring drivers for each day (or mixture of both). What are other's recommendations? How does car rental (including gas…

I'd love to go to Wadi Rum during an upcoming trip to Jordan (arriving from Egypt), but after looking at various tours, they all appear out of my price range (100 JD+).

Is it possible to experience Wadi Rum on a backpackers budget? I'm willing to explore on my own, live in a bare-bones tent in a less than glamorous camp and so on.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this? All opinions, advice would be really appreciated!

Best regards,
C.

I will be in Jordan on business and hope to add 2 days to my stay to do an overnight trip to the Wadi Rum (from Amman). I'd like to find a tour where I can join up with others, but I can't seem to find one. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm wanting to hire a car at the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge in Jordan and have found a company called "Easy Rental" (http://easy-car-rental.com/index.php?lang=en), which appear to be giving a more competitive price than Avis.

I can't find any reviews of them online and was wondering if anyone had used them and what the experience had been like?

Or if there was a better company to use? (I've seen references to Reliable car rental on this forum from a couple of years back but can't find them…

I posted in April and as promised our trip update. We had a great time on our 8 day trip. The Jordanians we met were very friendly and we enjoyed their beautiful country.

Got the jordan pass - saved loads!
Took private taxi as didn't have time to do local minibus. Also difficult to get to Dead Sea on local transport.

Itinerary day 1 arrived 11.30pm picked up by taxi arranged by jordan tower hostel for 27 jd. On the way back to the airport we paid 20 jd. We arrived late and tbh I was happy to…

I have a last minute chance to go to Israel for work and would like to add some extra time on and cross a land border into Jordan. I am traveling on a US passport but do not have time to get a visa in advance. I have read you need a visa in advance to cross at Allenby/King Hussein Bridge and at Wadi Araba. I can get one at the Sheikh Hussein border but will be traveling Saturday morning and have read that their are no buses to the border during that time. I will have a free day in Tel Aviv…

Hello,
I'm planning to buy a Jordan pass but I'm not sure if I can benefit the visa waive. I'm going to enter Jordan twice. I'm going by plane and I'm going to stay there for 12 days, then cross the border to Israel in Aqaba and stay in Israel for 10 days. Then I will enter Jordan again by the Sheikh Hussein Bridge, in order to get he flight back home. Do I have to ask for Double Entry visa when I first arrive and pay the 60 JOD fee, losting the waive visa fee ? Or can I pay only 20 JOD (the…

This may or may not help people thinking of crossing the border (as some info on the internet is out of date), situation as of 01-April-2016

There are 3 crossings from Israel into Jordan, I believe in Aqaba you can only cross with a tour group so this information only applies to the middle and northern borders. The King Hussein// Allenby bridge crossing (middle crossing), you can not get a visa on arrival, so I went to the Sheik Hussein crossing in the north. I had fears it would take 2 hours…
