Lonely Planet review

With panoramic views across the reserve and a great roaring fire in winter, a welcome from enthusiastic park rangers and a collection of like-minded fellow travellers, this is one ecolodge that lives up to its hearty reputation. Run by the RSCN, the lodge is set into the hillside with the balcony and dining-room on the ground floor and minimalist, stone-walled rooms on the floor below. All but the two single rooms have a balcony on which you can shiver in the dawn before sneaking back to bed before breakfast. The heating and hot water is provided by solar panels. A selection of fresh salads, local cheese, labneh and halva can be expected for breakfast (included in the room rates). Dinner (JD9) is shared around long trestle tables.

Our independent authors have visited Dana Guest House and selected this as one of our recommended guesthouses in Dana Biosphere Reserve.
