Not your average sliced-meat stand, the shwarmas here come in three sizes - 6, 10 and 12 inches - and come in Chinese, chicken and cheese varieties. The fries are good too.

    If you have finished enjoying all the ethnic and anthropological treats Jordan has to offer and are hankering for a taste of home go to R&B Shawerma.
    Yes, they do shawerma but in a 'western' way.Baguettes are 6, 10 or 12 inches long stuffed with a choice of chinese, cheese of barbeque shawerma freshly sliced off and stir-fried by a cook with well-honed flourishes.
    But even better are the fries, seasoned with something amazing (you will wonder why you ever liked salt and vinegar) and served with a vast array of dips, all delicious.
    You could sit in and eat, or sit outside and talk to the locals but my best day was when we took take away and got a taxi to The Citadel. We sat on the rocks overlooking the Roman Theatre Downtown. Some kids came out of the houses perched on the cliff face below the rocks and shared our meal, followed by their mum, resplendent in the brightest yellow dress i have ever seen, with a tray of glasses of hot mint tea balanced on her head!
    The best meal at a restaurant is not always at the restaurant, it's what you make of it.
