Yushima Tenjin (Yushima Shrine) information
This attractive Shintō shrine traces its lineage all the way back to the 5th century. In the 14th century, the spirit of a renowned scholar was also enshrined here, which leads to its current popularity: it receives countless students in search of academic success. The best time to visit is during the ume matsuri (plum festival) of February and early March when dozens of plum trees erupt in white blossoms.
