Erawan
Not a new kid on the block; Erawan serves spicy curries and green papaya salad, in a setting reminiscent of an outdoor Thai café on some southern shore. Except here, you get a glittering urban view from this top-floor dining venue.

Kao Tai
From the bamboo-framed doorway to its snug dining room, Kao Tai feels like a warm slice of Southeast Asia. Most dishes are small-plate affairs, allowing you to sample and share while swigging on a Singha. While it’s not the most complicated Thai food around, the feel more than makes up for it.

Coca
Appreciate the prewar architecture of Ueno’s station building along with authentic Thai curries, fried rice, omelettes and noodle soups. If Thai’s not your thing, there are many other restaurants in the station’s ‘Retro-kan’ (Retro Hall), but Coca is one of the few where you can see the original details: curved walls, hardware and such.
