Somehow this odd little school and cafe works. Nestled among the temples and shrines on a hill, this log house serves fondue (cheese or meat), and pasta or sandwich lunch sets (¥900 to ¥1260), or coffee, herbal tea and pastries, often to children who have left class upstairs. If you want chocolate fondue (¥1800 per person, minimum of two), order it a couple of days in advance.
