Lonely Planet review
The Akasaka house of the Sunroute hotel chain is a fresh, friendly business hotel with thoughtfully designed rooms all equipped with high-speed internet access. It's conveniently located near the Akasaka-mitsuke and Nagatachō subway stations, with access to five subway lines. And it's an easy 15-minute walk to Roppongi nightlife.
Placed in the middle of Akasaka where serious deals and government affairs are conducted, you'd think the Sunroute Akasaka would be a correspondingly square sort of establishment. Happily, it instead has a bright atmosphere and surprisingly nicely designed rooms for a business hotel in this area. Rooms are on the small side, but they're comfortable and neat, verging on stylish. As with better hotels of this class, the singles are outfitted with semi-double beds, which are much more comfortable for bigger bodies. Nonsmoking rooms are available, as is in-room high-speed internet access. There's laundry service, credit cards are accepted and there's even a wheelchair-accessible room. While the hotel itself doesn't have its own restaurant, there's a chain cafe downstairs for your morning cuppa, and the surrounding area is rife with excellent restaurant choices.
