Lonely Planet review

This faded starlet from Ginza's crazy '80s is holding up as a solid, generic-feeling business hotel with reasonably priced rooms. All of Ginza's action is right out the door, and the solicitous staff will make up for the hotel's seeming lack of enthusiasm.

Though the Ginza International Hotel's glitz has seen its day in Ginza's bubble-era '80s, it now looks a bit world-weary and dated. For the neighbourhood, however, it's a reasonably priced, clean business hotel that will provide a central base for your Tokyo travels. Deluxe doubles feature roomy bathrooms and two separate sitting areas - a lot of space considering that this end of town has some of the priciest real estate on the planet. A wine bar and Italian restaurant provide an at-home dining place if you're too shopped-out to hit the town. And if you feel like a croon, there's even a karaoke restaurant on the 2nd floor (you'll find reception on the 3rd). Discounts of up to 30% off regular rates are available on Sundays and holidays.
