Fun way to see Tokyo!
nycangel recommends this,
My husband and I love biking and had to do it in Tokyo. It's a great way to get around. Because biking on sidewalks is a little weird, we got on the road half the time - avoid the crowds and less bumps. Neil, the American owner of Rent a Bike is very kind, reliable, flexible (we moved our return date a couple of times) and honest. He gave us some great tips and provided maps for the ride. His bikes come with a basket, bell and lock. I would definitely use his company again for Tokyo biking needs!

We have had a great time biking with Neil in Tokyo. Biking is a great way to get around in the city. In a few days you can do all your sight seeing and get a good exercise to. Neil was and excellent gide! He showed us the way to bike in this city. He told us about interesting sight to visit. Thanks a lot Man! Cees and Trudy from Holland.

A great way to get around Tokyo
rloftus recommends this,
I reserved a bike in advance and found Neil and his staff very helpful and accommodating. During my stay I rode frequently to Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, the Gaienmae gardens, and Ikebukuro. I also rode to the National Diet Library and later the Imperial Palace which is a popular place to ride around the circuit. I also rode over to Tokyo Station. Parking your bike for a short time was not a problem but if I was going to leave my bike for a few hours, I would try and find a safe, monitored place which might involve paying 150-yen. I liked the fact that I could park for free at my hotel. Riding a bike is a fun way to see parts of Tokyo you might not otherwise encounter. I would recommend the experience strongly.

Cheap, fun, easy and convenient way to rent bikes in Tokyo.
ichabob recommends this,
Renting bicycles and riding around made for one of our best days while in Tokyo, and for a very reasonable price (about 12 dollars). The English speaking (American) staff was helpful and provided a bike route map and gave suggestions about where to go. We finished registration and were on the bikes in less than 5 minutes. It was fun riding outside around instead of taking the subways, and we were able to see a lot more of the city this way. We could ride on the sidewalks, so didn't have to deal with traffic. Definitely recommended for anyone visiting Tokyo. They also do bicycle tours.

Why did the bike fall over? Because it was too tyred.

This free bike hire is the bomb. The system works with Japanese efficiency, you'll be mixing it with lycra lads and young families on the circuit before you can get out an 'arigato'.
Helmets not required but baskets are likely.
