  1. A

    Sonoma

Favourites such as crispy-skinned salmon with lime aioli, and porterhouse steak with truffle butter form the mainstay of this unpretentiously inspired and priced Californian fusion menu. The interior resembles a Sonoma Wine Country restaurant and the menu is complemented by a strong selection of Californian wines.

  2. B

    Suji’s

Suji’s is a landmark for homesick Yanks and Japanese craving a bite of the Big Apple. Weekend brunch is always busy thanks to eggs Benedict, pancakes, smoked-salmon bagels, and breakfast burritos. Suji’s house-cured meats (pastrami, corned beef, honey-cured ham etc) are a rarity in Tokyo.

    Pik's Coffee Shop

For bacon and eggs with a uniquely Japanese spin, head for this retro-'50s diner where the music and the menu are straight out of Kansas City, but the cook and clientele are local. Plus root beer and free coffee refills.
