I'm arriving at Narita at about 3pm on June 6th and I have family arriving on the evening of the 7th and the evening of the 8th. It seems from everything I've read that I can see most of what Narita has to offer in a day (most articles suggests to only spend a day there). I was planning on hitting an onsen while I recover from jetlag, but aside from seeing the main sites off the main drag, is there anything I should seek out in Narita? Are there any worthwhile day trips? I'm going to be spending…
Does anyone know of any cool abandoned places in Japan like old theme parks, buildings, ghost towns, etc? Preferably not problematic to visit (as in getting in troubles with the law or local security)? I'm also interested in haunted houses/buildings/spots. I know it's a bit of a niche :), but it would be cool if anyone could help me out!
So I'm flying with ANA from Bangkok to Haneda.
And I'm staying at Hotel Sunroute Plaza in Shinjuku.
The hotel have recommended I take this Limousine Bus: http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/platform_searches/index/4/17
I'm a little confused about the process to get the ticket and where to find the bus.
It's just not that clear a process on their website IMO.
Here's the 3 things I need to know:
- Does ANA flying from Bangkok arrive at Haneda Terminal 2?
Hello Im about to book a trip to Tokyo with my 12 year old son and 70 year old father in October time. We will have a lot of different boxes to tick! I'm relatively confident with independent travel but having so many different things we want to do combined with zero local knowledge, I am finding it really difficult to decide which area to stay in! I'd like to know how long travel around the different areas of toyko takes by subway or train or bus (i don't hear much about buses so far!) We…
I'll be moving to Tokyo and looking for a fitness gym near the Roppongi area. Is there any gym that anyone would recommend that is close by?
Thank you for any info!
Any hints or tips for hitchhiking in Japan for a westerner without any Japanese?
Next month I`ll be staying with a Japanese friend in Toyama for two weeks. He has a house, a car and everything but hitchhiking is a foreign concept to him.
I kind of collect countries hitchhiked and don`t want to miss out on Japan. Just daytrips.
HI, I am going in August to Hokkaido and I have problems to buy the tickets (2 persons and a car) for the ferry to Rebun as the page is only in Japanase.
Does someone know how to do it? Or does someone know some agency which does it?
Anybody interested in climbing Mt. Fuji on June 11 or 12? I am aware of the risks related to off-season climbing, but will likely only have this one chance at a summit attempt.
This itinerary is based on three anchors: Tokyo – Japan Alps – Kyoto. I’ve built it mainly using lonely-planet guide and some forum reading. I would greatly appreciate your feedback, especially if there’s something in the itinerary you think I can strike (or replace with something else). Incidentally, you are more than welcome to add stuff you think are a must that are not on the list at the moment.
A few things to consider:
1. Our trip will last from Oct. 1st to Oct. 18th. A…
I've only got 2 days in Kyoto and want to stay in a nice (but not luxury = expensive) ryokan. For example something like Seikoro Ryokan (sold out during my dates). Which ryokan can you highly recommend?
Also, if you don't a specific ryokan in mind, where do you think I should try to concentrate my search for a nice ryokan experience; Southern Higashiyama, Northern Higashiyama or Downtown Kyoto?
