We have 5 days skiing in Hakuba over the Christmas period. I was wondering can someone reccomend a good place for Christmas dinner( turkey roast potatoes stuffing etc) .
I've also been trying to find a Catholic Church nearby if anyone could help with that too .
I hope someone can help me, I'm trying to figure out what JR Passes to buy in order to save myself money. Here's my current plan:
I've put the train journies I'm doing in brackets. Anything without brackets indicates that I'm staying in that city for the day. :) (I assume that inner-city travel is affordable?)
22/01 (Fukuoka to Hiroshima)
24/01 (Hiroshima to Miyajima return)
25/01 (Hiroshima to Osaka)
26/01 (Osaka to Universal Studios return)
These are Peter & Bea, from Spain (28 years old) and we are going to spend our holidays in Japan between 3-15Nov. It is our first time and between Tokyo (first 4 days of the trip) and Kyoto (last 4 days), we were looking for some plan to get lost in the nature, enjoy momiji and enjoy traditional Japanese atmosphere during a couple of days. We have checked these two options, and would like (and truly thank) to hear your opinions:
A) Go from Tokyo to Okuhida Onsen (Minshuku Takizawa) to…
We are travelling to Japan in two weeks. We want to purchase an ordinary 7 day rail pass to use during our travels. Is there a specific pass we need to purchase, ie east, west or central, or is it just a pass we can use anywhere? We won't use it immediately as we are spending days in Tokyo and then we are going to Takakyama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Miyajima, Hiroshima and back to the Kansai area. What about a Suica card or Pasmo card?
I will be traveling solo in Japan this Mid October. It will be my first time that's why I have no idea where to exchange currency in Japan aside from the airport (but I'm trying to avoid it because of me having the mindset of money changers charge high at the airports. I'm just not sure though.) A fellow Filipino traveller told me that she doesn't buy currencies at money changers, what she does usually is to withdraw currency at the airport using ATM w/ minimal charge per…
I am sorry for the amount of information and questions but I am leaving to Japan in a week!
Bear in mind that I am in my early twenty's, on a budget so I don't want to waste too much money on transport.
So I am going to Japan from the beginning of October to mid-December, though in the first month I will be volunteering/working in Nagoya and have only 2 days off per week.
Until now the places which I am planning to go/see/visit are:
-Hiroshima (see Ōkunoshima)
I have posted a few times about our Japan trip so here is another question!
We weren't going to go to Sapporo because flights were $1,200 AUD return from Tokyo to Sapporo but i just checked again and thankfully they are now only $200 return.
Only problem is accommodation is EXPENSIVE! Around $2,500 for 3 nights in Niseko (in anything that looks decent). We are going to be going after the snow festival etc so is this just the standard price for accommodation in the winter or is it…
Hello all - I am flying into Narita on October 12th and leaving December 23rd. My plan is to spend that entire time WWOOF'ing - I'd like to start somewhere up north and eventually make my way to Okinawa, before flying back.
So, I'm trying to decide where to start my trip. Right now I am thinking either Nagano or all the way up in Aomori. I plan to stay roughly 1 week on each farm, give or take.
Based on the weather at that time and the duration of my trip, does anyone have suggestions? My main…
Looks like we will have 10 days in Japan end of November, we have been previously but never to the Northern areas. We don't ski but are happy to stay in that area for a few days. Thinking of Sapporo not sure as the distance will take a day out of our stay. Any suggestions. Have previously come across from Korea on the ferry and travelled up to Tokyo.
We are senior travellers reasonably adventurous on our way to Europe..
