My name is Hubert and I'm trying to plan a trip to Japan.
I'd like to spend 3 weeks up there but I don't really know where to start when it comes to planning a trip.
If I may I'd love to ask you for help in doing so.
I'll fly to Tokyo Haneda on 16th of April and I'm planning on coming back on 8th of May.
I'm mainly interested in exploring the culture but also I'd love to have a taste of Japanese tech world and some relax.
I don't really want to explore the south of Japan (I might be wrong…
So far our itinerary includes the following:
Tokyo 4N -Day trip
Miyajima 3N Hiroshima day trip
This leaves us 5 days.
We’ve been thinking of travelling to Kyushu by train/plane and spend the time there. Once there we would fly from Nagasaki to Tokyo and home. Any airline suggestions? Read some place that tourists can receive a flight discount. Maybe seniors? Is this so? A young girl born in Kyushu highly recommended a visit to this area. Sounds different…
Hi I'll be spending a day and half around Kyoto and would like to ask your inputs regarding my itinerary.
My plan is to first go to my accommodation which is located in Gion to store my luggage.
So from Gion-
Fushimi Inari Taisha (I am thinking of finishing the whole trail up to the shrine.)
Check in at Ryokan Q-Beh in Gion (my accommodation)
Kyoto Tower (if still possible)
Arashiyama Bamboo Grove
Kiyomizudera Area/ Gion/Nearby Tourist…
I'll be in Japan in late November and would like to book a Japan Rail Pass, which must be done in advance before one enters the country. From what I've read, the tickets can only be bought from a JAL or ANA office. I live far from both, so looked online and found the website below, but can't tell if it's legit? https://www.jrailpass.com/
We will be traveling to Japan in November with 2 children (6 and 2 years old).. based on our below itinerary, should we have JR pass? If yes, 7 or 14 days pass should be considered?.. If anyone has any comments to our itinerary, please let us know.. We still have room for modifications.. Does our itinerary sound reasonable in terms of moving between cities with children using 1 stroller for our 2 years daughter. Are we giving ourselves enough time for each location or maybe more time is…
I am traveling in the first week of November to Japan. Kindly suggest me is it possible to visit mt.fuji..i am really interested to visit..if not can u suggest other good alternative casual hiking with serene beauty in that time of the year
I'm going to kyoto in november for two weeks. Online Ryokan seem really expensive. The last time I was there I got a reasonable priced Ryokan. My theory is: online ryokans are way more expensive then ones without a website.
My question is: is it smart to just book something for one day and then search / find a cheap(er) Ryokan there? Or do they all have websites now?
Hope someone smart knows this!!
I suspect this will be one for Glenski, but anyone else is welcome.
I will be flying into Chitose in a few days and staying in Sapporo for a couple of days. I am then cycling to Osaka.
Before heading South, I would like to do a few days touring of Hokkaido from Sapporo. Looking at the LP guidebook, I am thinking of riding to Furano then on to Asahikawa, before heading back to Otaru. This is just to give me a bit of a taster of Hokkaido.
Any thoughts on this route, or could I do better?
HI all ,

Hello, we are planning a week visit to japan from April 222 to May 5 2017. The 2nd week will be Golden Week. We plan to be in Kyushu in the 2nd week and try to avoid the worst crowds. We travel with two teenage children (11 and 12). Any recommendations on things to see and do and places to stay are welcome. In Kyushu we are looking mostly for nature (mountains, waterfall, beaches) and rural attractions (onsen). Also Fukuoka will be a destination, and we have already been advised not to stay in…
