Lonely Planet review

We love this Okinawan-style restaurant for its tasty food, stylish interior and comfortable upstairs seating. It’s perfect for lunch while exploring northern Higashiyama and it’s just a short walk from Ginkaku-ji. At lunch they serve simple things like taco rice (¥880) and gōya champurū (bitter melon stir-fry; ¥680), while dinners are more à la carte affairs with a wide range of izakaya (Japanese pub) fare.
