Doutor is a nationwide chain in Japan, with simple coffee, tea, sandwiches and light snacks. This is a chain of straight-up coffee shops with light meals, a nice place for a break or to study Japanese a bit. They tend to be quieter than other cafes and maybe a bit smaller too. While nothing on the menu is amazing it is much more reasonably priced than Starbucks yet has comfortable chairs and tables.

The food is fine, and in order of price you have the following sandwiches:

1- The paninis are kept in a fridge and toasted after you order them. 

2- Bagels are fine though not on true bagel bread, typical bread dough but in the shape of a bagel-which is a fairly typical thing in Japan. If it looks like a bagel it must be a bagel~! 

3- Some mini-subs are also available but a bit pricier. Fairly fresh fillings are used in these, the same goes for the bagels.

I rarely drink the coffee here but the fresh juice is nice and similarly priced. The menu is mostly in Japanese but they have one of those plastic placemat type menus with pictures so it is easier to point to what you want when ordering if you have no Japanese skills.

All in all, a decent place to stop for a quick bite or enjoy a coffee and a book. Oh, by the way this review is written about the chain in general and not any particular branch.
