Veggie dining in Kobe

ModernArk sets it self up as a kind of shelter in a bustling world. It is furnished in bare wood, draped with south/south-east asia ethnic furnishings, playing new age music, with flyers for yoga classes, and dreamcatcher making workshops dotted around, but don't let that put you off. The cliental are young-ish Kobe-ites drawn by the shopping in the trendy Tor Road West area and the relaxing atmosphere of the cafe. You'll be offered a choice of the English or Japanese menu, and from here you can order anything from a vegetarian Japanese meal, a curry, burritos and quiche. This can be accompanied by an organic wine/beer, a huge selection of herb teas or some dandelion coffee, followed by some nice desserts. Dinner with a beer and a cake will set you back about 2000yen. On your way out, pick up one of the fabulous home-made muffins for breakfast the next day.
