These folks have been making teuchi (handmade) soba since 1898. Try their cold zaru soba (¥880) to strip it bare and taste the flavour of the noodles. The tororo nameko soba (¥1220) is also very good: noodles in a hot soup with boiled mushroom and grated mountain potato. The building has an interesting red-glass sign with white characters and a little roof on it.
