Hello!

My husband and I will be traveling from San Francisco, CA to Manila, Philippines with a 18 hour layover at Haneda airport. We land at 2:45 in the afternoon on a Tuesday and fly out at 9 in the morning the next day.

This will be our first time in Japan, though we do plan on coming back, so we're looking for a nice "introduction" to Japan. We definitely want to see Shibuya Crossing, a Temple, and some sort of city skyline view. We love Japanese food and love to try new things as well.

Traveling to Japan mid-end Nov for two weeks. Thinking of Tokyo, Kanazawa and possibly Osaka and/or ryokan. Any suggestions on where would be best to go considering the weather and kids (aged 1 and 6 years). Interested in Osaka but feel it may be too similar to Tokyo. Is Kanazawa a good idea (have already been to Kyoto so looking to go elsewhere). Also are ryokans generally too adult for kids?

These are the ones we're considering:

Ochiairou Murakami, Izu Peninsula

A terrible question: if we could spend only 2-3 days along the Shikoku Henro, what stretch should we cover?

I'd like not to hike along roads. I'd like natural beauty, varied scenery interesting temples and ryokans/minshukus.

It would also be nice if it didn't take too long to get there from Takamatsu, where we'll probably be for the trienniale art festival.

Thank you,

Colin

Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone could recommend some good Tempura or Unagi places in Shibuya or Ginza? Also would it be necessary to book before we arrive in Tokyo?

Budget conscious but we plan on going out for one memorable meal

Thanks!

Hi all, I've been learning to speak some Japanese For my holiday in Japan, but haven't made any progress with reading.

Could anyone tell me please whether
- prices,
- train platform numbers and times
are displayed only in kanji or are Arabic numbers also used?
Thanks, Georgia

Hi
We are 2 people and have bought flights to Japan for 6 weeks from 17 October to 30 November and intend to travel the whole of the country by rail, bus or car depending on what transport we need to use to get to where we want to see.
We hope to keep our program fairly flexible, however we have booked an airbnb for our last week in Kyoto as thought it would be difficult at that time of year to get accommodation.

Our question is if it possible to book accommodation as you go at that time of…

Hello Guys!
My name is Hubert and I'm trying to plan a trip to Japan.
I'd like to spend 3 weeks up there but I don't really know where to start when it comes to planning a trip.
If I may I'd love to ask you for help in doing so.
I'll fly to Tokyo Haneda on 16th of April and I'm planning on coming back on 8th of May.
I'm mainly interested in exploring the culture but also I'd love to have a taste of Japanese tech world and some relax.
I don't really want to explore the south of Japan (I might be wrong…

Hi,
So far our itinerary includes the following:
Tokyo 4N -Day trip
Takayama 3N
Kanazawa 2N
Kyoto 4N
Miyajima 3N Hiroshima day trip
This leaves us 5 days.
We’ve been thinking of travelling to Kyushu by train/plane and spend the time there. Once there we would fly from Nagasaki to Tokyo and home. Any airline suggestions? Read some place that tourists can receive a flight discount. Maybe seniors? Is this so? A young girl born in Kyushu highly recommended a visit to this area. Sounds different…
