Good evening,

I am looking for information on how best to do a 3 day section of this trek. I'm finding it hard to find the following info and hope someone can advise me;

  1. Do you have to book with an tour operator and book ahead and can you just turn up and do parts of this trek independently and make your own bookings. Was hoping to be able to park the van somewhere and do a some treking and for a few days or so then get a bus back to where we parked up.

I have read some information…

Hello. I'm planning to visit Japan in late December-January. However, new Years seems to have many closings and I was wondeirng if anyone knows if the snow monkey park closes during this time as well?

We are planning to stay in Shibu Onsen from Dec31-Jan 1st, but want to make sure the park is open. Additionally, does anyone have good Ryokan recommendations for this area? Thank you!

Hi all,

I'm now looking at whether it would be worth the time to fit in a stay in Koya-San at the end of my first trip to Japan.

We will arrive in Kyoto mid afternoon, and then stay for four nights. The next day, would we be able to visit Nara, and then go on to Koya-San for the night, before travelling to Osaka the following day for an evening flight?

I've read quite a lot of mixed things about how much time you need to spend in Koya-San to make the experience worth it, and how long the…

Hi,

I'm going to be descending Mt Fuji down the Yoshida Trail to the Fuji-Subaru 5th Station. I then need to get to Gotemba so I can catch a train to Osaka.

Could anyone offer some help on this? Trying to look for the most direct way to get to Gotemba from Fuji-Subaru. After looking into this myself I think I'd need to get a bus back to Kawaguchiko Station and then another to Gotemba but just wanted to be sure.

Thanks

As a big traveler myself I want to see what people are looking for in a trip to Japan.
I have traveled more than 50countries myself and from all of the traveling I most enjoyed the activity and experiencing the local life.
I felt there is lots to see in Japan but not much to mingle with locals and experience the life of Japanese or culture of Japanese.
As Japanese myself I really want to have tourist in Japan experience more JAPAN.
Would you be interested in farm staying, finishing village stay or…

I have been told that from Shizuoka , ( nihondaira ) There are nice views of Mount fuji with the tea plantations...
from where there are the best views of Mt. Fuji from Hakone, from kawaguchiko or from Nihondaira?

To go to Kawaguchiko is it best to go from Tokio or from Shizuoka? I come from Hiroshima to Tokyo and I do not know if it is better to…

Hi everyone,
I am planning to spend most of my time in Japan (early September) in Tokyo and Osaka and then do day trips from the two cities.
In the case of Mt. Fuji , I am only interested at seeing it and taking some photograph. Now considering that this might not happen due to the weather, I would not like to take a day only to find out that the nice Volcano is behind clouds.
I would like then to try my luck only on my way from Tokyo to Osaka and stop somewhere where the Mountain could visible.

I saw a sign yesterday at a FamiMa saying that it's now possible to withdraw yen using foreign bank cards. I didn't test it out because I don't need more cash for a few days but I thought people would like to know there is now another option in the areas that lack 7-11s.
