Lonely Planet review for Turtle Beach

The main beach of Ocho Rios is the long crescent of Turtle Beach, stretching east from the Turtle Towers condominiums to the Renaissance Jamaica Grande Resort. There are changing rooms, and palms for shade.

    Small, but nice

We stay with my husband's family when we're in town, so we don't have access to the resort beaches. We come here instead.
It cost us $200 J each to get in. They stamp your wrist so you can come and go. There are a few food stalls that sell Red stripe and snacks. We always hit the grocery store first and brought our own food with us, so I don't know the prices. There's a lady who braids hair. Picnic tables and cement tables and benches are scattered around the beach.
We spent the afternoon floating in the warm water searching for shells. Large almond trees provide both shade from the sun and shelter from the occasional and sometimes sudden, but brief rain shower.
