Dangers & annoyances
The biggest annoyance in Ocho Rios is the persistent entreaties of hustlers and would-be tour guides, who are especially thick along Main St and around the clock tower and DaCosta Dr.
Otherwise, try to avoid the area immediately behind the produce market, south of the clock tower. Use caution at night anywhere, but particularly on James Ave, a poorly lit street with several nightspots and a hang-out strip of ill repute.
