Lonely Planet review for Rick’s Café
You’ll join the touristy throng at this ever-popular West End institution. The somewhat pricey menu features steaks, fresh seafood and Cajun fare. The loud music precludes an intimate meal, but if you’re in the mood for a party – or a dip in the pool between courses – this place fits the bill. While you eat, local divers try to outdo each other from the 10m-tall cliffs.

“Green Flash with a Reggae Vibe”
luckydl recommends this,
Lucky couples who see the “green flash” on the horizon, a unique natural phenomenon as the sun drops into the sea, are guaranteed true love according to those in the know, or in the weed, at Rick’s Café.
A few of their irie rum punches may just help you see the light!
Opened in 1974 as a tribute to Casablanca’s Bogey, and originally a hippy hangout, this spot boasts the most spectacular sunsets on the island.
Now both tourists and locals flock here for the fresh seafood, Cajun style dishes, steaks, and exotic drinks.
Jerk or barbequed chicken, sautéed Caribbean shrimp, shellfish linguine, fresh lobster, snapper and grouper, were among our favorites.
Everyone feels irie as the live reggae music and fresh fruit daiquiris embolden you to literally take the plunge off their famous 40 foot cliff into the beckoning crystal clear blue sea. We were cheered on from below, by a catamaran full of nude revelers!
And yes…as the sun set on our perfect day…we saw a green flash!Good for: Romance, atmosphere, food, Groups, Solo Travellers
