I will be traveling to Jamaica at the end of July for about 10 tens. I need help trying to figure out which towns to visit. MoBay is a must since I am attending a wedding there. Next is Negril and TB.
This is where things get tough. I really want to hike the blue mountain peak but I am afraid that I don't have enough time (4 days left) to visit the blue mountains, port antonio and oho rios. I need to cross one of these towns off my list :(
Would really appreciate any advice or…
I'll be in Jamaica for several weeks in July, including the dates of Sumfest in Montego Bay, and would love to check out the music. My sons, who are 11 and 13, will be with me. Are there any events that are okay for kids this age, maybe the opening beach party?
We also plan to spend a few weeks in Port Antonio. If anyone has any budget recommendations ($40-$50/night) of where to stay, please let me know.
My boyfriend and I will be traveling around Jamaica soon for about 7-10 days. Although some beach time is inevitable, we would like some suggestions for places/ways to experience the cultural or "real" Jamaica.
Also, what are some good, safe places to listen to music?
Are there any special events happening next week?
Are there any areas/towns with local community/charm?
Do you have any suggestions for nice, special, relatively inexpensive places to stay around the island that are a bit…
as a german we usually allowed to stay in Jamaica for 90 days without a visa.
Does anybody know what happened if I stay more than the 90 days, maybe 100 or even more?
Do I have to pay a fee or what happens?
Thanks, cheers Angi
Hello, I need your advise please: I'm going to Jamaica next August with my family, and I'm now looking at the hotels. I see there are rooms with fan and rooms with air con, and I'd like to know if, in August, air con is strongly suggested or may be an optional. Are there many mosquitoes? Thanks!!
I'm looking for some spots in Negril that play Rocksteady, Roots & Culture, Lovers Rock etc. DJ is just fine. I'm sure there are plenty of places that have dancehall. But I'd rather get away from the boisterous dancehall vibe a couple of nights while in Negril.
Thanks again for all your input and advise. It's greatly appreciated. One love.
Last year we've been travellling from Treasure Beach via Negril via Ocho Rios to Kingston.
What's up with the south/centre part of the island?
Any ideas? Please let us know!
2 months ago, I was in Jamaica again for staying 13 nights.
[1st to 8th night @ Treasure Brach]
- This is my 2nd time to visit TB because I like the peaceful village. This time, I spent lots of time here and didn’t go anywhere, just chilling.
- The most thing I like to do is having great great great beach time at Smokey’s Bar on Calabash Bay. There’s also a bar nearby which serves Jerk Chicken rice, TEST GOOD! There’s also a local old men walking around to sell coconut, art piece, reggae…
Staying in Negril - need to know where I can locate a bakery so I can save $ by forgoing eating breakfast at the hotel. Or perhaps any suggestions about cheap breakfast eats in the area (if it serves blue mountain coffee it's a plus!). Preferably somewhere near the roundabout as it seems that my hotel is not too far from there looking at the google earth map.
