Tour description provided by Viator

Enjoy a guided tour of the Appleton Rum Estate, where you’ll sample fresh-pressed cane juice and a range of rum. Learn about the estate’s history through artifacts on exhibit and discover what makes this rum distinct as you visit the distillery and aging house. Hear about Jamaica’s iconic liquor from your guide, with round-trip hotel transport from Montego Bay.

After your guide picks you up at your Montego Bay hotel, drive to the Appleton Estate, located two hours away on the south coast of Jamaica. Enjoy scenic views of the countryside en route to the estate, where rum has been produced since the mid-1700s. Upon arrival at the well-maintained grounds, embark on a 1-hour guided tour to learn how the drink is made before tasting several different blends of the world’s finest rum!
During your tour, your guide points out artifacts that illustrate the history of the estate and its rum production process. Visit the distillery to see 200-year-old copper pot stills and learn about the aging process in oak barrels where rums age to excellence. Along the way, you’ll get a taste of freshly pressed cane juice.
After your tour, enjoy sipping a wide variety of rums, with 10 samples ranging in age, taste and strength. You’ll have time to peruse the gift shop or purchase a snack before enjoying a Jamaican-style lunch (own expense). Then depart for Montego Bay, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.
