Lonely Planet review
About 400m uphill from Wildflower Lodge, nestled amid pine trees, this former plantation dating from 1776 is an atmospheric but basic option, with bunks for up to 40 people, shared bathrooms and kitchen. The dark, cavernous lounge has a huge fireplace and smoke-stained ceiling. Camping is allowed on the lawn beneath eucalyptus trees. Order a large breakfast (J$650) or lunch/dinner (J$750) in advance. Reliable guides to the peak charge J$3386.
