Museo di Torcello information
Across the square from the cathedral in the 13th-century Palazzo del Consiglio is this museum dedicated to Torcello’s bygone splendours. Downstairs are early Byzantine mosaics; while upstairs you'll find Roman items unearthed at the now-vanished Altinum. The show-stopper is a lively 1st-century Greek marble bust of a baby, lips parted as though to utter his first word.
