A classic osteria where you can crowd in for no-nonsense food. Choose from several broths and pasta for the first course and then dig into, say, a slab of sole for the main. It's a typically cramped Venetian locale, with ponderous timber ceiling beams and all sorts of paraphernalia hanging on the walls.

    Highly recommended for a non-pretentious romantic dinner

    I was in Venice for my 3 year-marriage trip, and went to Harry's Bar for lunch... I was always told that it was the typical place to go in Venice. I thought it was absolutely outrageous when comparing price with quality/service. Harry's Bar ripped us off (around 100 EUR per person) for a "regular meal" of no more than 30 EUR in a fancy restaurant somewhere else.
    Went for dinner to this cozy restaurant, not fancy nor pretentious, but quite full when we passed by. We decided to get in and had a wonderful dinner with nice pasta (better than the one at Harry's) and fresh local fish. When I saw the bill... It was hilarious! something like 50 EUR for both. We had a splendid night, food and enjoyed one of the best nights at Venice.
