  1. A

    Snack Bar Ai Nomboli

A snappy Venetian comeback to McDonald’s: scrumptious, right-sized sandwiches on fresh, crusty rolls, well packed with local cheeses, roast vegetables, savoury salami, prosciutto, roast beef and other cold cuts. Sprightly greens are more than garnishes in these sandwiches, and condiments range from spicy mustard to wild nettle sauce. Two of these make a filling lunch for €4 to €5, and three is a proper feast deserving of a glass of Brunello on a stool at the bar.

  2. B

    Caffe Mandola

Panini (sandwiches) are the speciality here, with some inspired fillings on fresh focaccia including tangy tuna and capers or lean bresaola, arugula, and seasoned Grana Padano cheese. Stools provide sweet relief for tired feet if you plan your break around the lunch peak and happy hour.

    Al Vecio Penasa

This remains a good spot for its excellent selection of sandwiches and snacks at reasonable prices.
