Lonely Planet review for Naranzaria

East meets West in this hip corner bistro with sushi and Venetian-style cicheti, along with light summer dishes. Swilled down with fine local and Friuli wines, this microscopically sized locale with cool ambient music adds a metro touch to the Rialto market bustle. Grab a table upstairs in winter or a canalside position in summer. (The Naranzaria was long the orange market. Oranges were prized by mariners not for making juice but as a preventive measure against scurvy while at sea.)

    Special Place in Venice

    plfinne recommends this,

My son and I visited there on our last night in Venice. In March it was a bit cool to sit outside to eat but there were some tables outside overlooking the Grand Canal. We were told those were for people ordering from the downstairs bar so we were escorted upstairs to a small attic-like area. There were about four tables up there with sloping ceilings. It was an experience to remember, even if the views of Venice weren't available. My son has sushi while I had more traditional Italian bean soup and we shared a chocolate dessert. Eating there made for a good memory of our last night out in that magical city!
