Lonely Planet review
Evenings seem enchanted in this opulent 1540 Venetian palazzo, with staff fluffing pillows, plying guests with prosecco, arranging water taxis to the opera and plotting irresistible marriage proposals. Classic guestrooms feature kingly beds, silk damask–clad walls, Murano glass lamps and wood-beamed ceilings; go for baroque in frescoed superior rooms with 18th-century vanities and canal vistas. Breakfasts are served in the tree-shaded, lily-perfumed garden.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Palazzo Abadessa and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Sestiere di Cannaregio.
