The oldest rowing club in Venice was established in 1882. Inspired by the Oxbridge rowing clubs, it went on to furnish Italy with Olympic champions (the entire gold medal team at the 1952 Olympics consisted of Bucintoro members). You can sign up for lessons in voga alla veneta; for pricing and lesson times, write to elmar@bucintoro.org or call. It sometimes organises vela al terzo classes too.
