Lonely Planet review

Used as a rubbish dump in medieval times, this site was excavated in the 1950s to reveal a complex dating from the 1st century BC. Two stairways and 19 rows of seating are easily identifiable. Truth be told, an admission ticket isn't really necessary, as there's a great view over the theatre from Via Lungo Le Mura del Mandorlo.
