La Piccola Gerusalemme
Pitigliano’s medieval lanes and steep alleys are a delight to wander. Take Via Zuccarelli and turn left for La Piccola Gerusalemme. The area fell into disrepair with the demise of Pitigliano’s Jewish community at the end of WWII and was practically rebuilt from scratch in 1995. A visit includes the tiny, richly adorned synagogue and a small museum of Jewish culture, including the old bakery, kosher butchers and dyeing shops.
