Hi there, I've read all the posts about how to get from Rome Ciampino into the city, but we are only doing the reverse journey, so I would like to know what's best to get to Ciampino from Termini.we have 3 children, (3,3,4), do they have to pay onterravision bus? Also, where do you get the tickets for the airport bus at termini station, can you buy them in the bus?
As we are travelling with 3 young kids, im assuming the bus is the best option - or how straightforward is the option of taking…

My wife and I will be exploring Tuscany for our honeymoon in late April. We are staying in Florence, Siena, and Montepulciano. We plan to hire a car at the airport in Florence (to avoid the infamous ZTL's, other apparent headaches that come with driving in a large Italian city) and take our time exploring the Chianti region via SR 222. I understand that taking the bus between these places (especially Florence and Siena) is easier, however we are specifically hiring a car to have the flexibility…

I am planning a trip to Italy from 24th May to 5th or so of June. My family will join me till 1st of June, and then I'll be travelling solo for rest of the trip.

I love mountaineering, and have been thinking of which mountains to climb, given the amount of time i'll have (4-5 days). Do you guys have any suggestions on itinerary planning? There are so many mountains in the Italian alps that I am super confused. How easy or difficult is to get to these mountains from major city centers? Will I…

My wife and I have 2 weeks in Italy, flying in and out of Venice. We really want to see and hike some in the Dolomites for a few days. I know that early May is a bit on the early side for the weather, but it is the only time we have available, plus it should not be crowded.

We are well travelled globally, but it will be our first time in Italy. We are fit enough for almost anything, but only day hikes so we can enjoy the scenic small towns and amazing food at night.

Any cute, owner-run…

Hi,
We are a family with kids ages 3 and 9 traveling to Italy the first week of July. We will be there 11 nights and flying into and out of MXP/Milan.

We love offbeat things, beautiful views, lush, green countryside, mountains-to-sea views, turquoise waters, castles, forts, boats, snorkeling, swimming, caves, rafts, etc.. Of course casual good food, too, playgrounds, gelato, you get the picture.

I've sketched out a rough itinirary and would love to hear thoughts on it.
1. Day one (don't want to…

Dear Sicily's experts!

Our first journey to Sicily will take this May (first 9 days of the month).

First we tried to squeeze in Sicily in 6 days then Calabria in 4 days but I realized it would be an epic hurry and we will miss out a lot of interesting sights in Sicily (+I realized Vibo Valentino in Calabria might be a more intriguing option during June when there is option for swimming).

So I thought in early May, the east side of the Sicily can be a great option as there is more sightseeing…

Hi All,
Appears that the Salerno-Capri ferry won't run this summer. Does anyone know any ferries that are? I checked with "Direct Ferries": they say that NLG & Alilauro are no longer operating. Really wanted not to go back all the way to Naples: any ideas?
Thank you!

Hello,
My wife and I are planning to travel to Italy and Croatia this June. The Croatia part is the final leg where we'll meet up with family and stay in a VRBO house which is already reserved. The question how to spend the first 10 days (really net 8 days after travel time from California).

We are thinking of either Sardinia for 8 days and then on to Croatia via Rome, or Sardinia for 4-5 days and Campania wine regions (Avellino, Tarusi) 3-4 days and then onto Croatia (also via Rome).

I am…

I am travelling to Italy this June and will be in Val Gardena - Ortisei for 2 days. I would like to do a hike in the Dolomites while there. Can anyone recommend a hike with spectacular mountain views? Where would a good trail head be to start hiking?

My parents and I only have seven days in Sicily, and I'm aware that it's not enough time to see everything. Our flights are already booked in and out of Palermo, and we'll be renting a car. Given our interests, I have a preliminary itinerary which I know will be very aggressive. However, is it possible?

Day 1: Palermo

Day 2: drive across the island to Catania

Day 3: Mt. Etna

Day 4. Taormina

Day 5. drive to Syracuse

Day 6: drive to Agrigento (Valley of the Temples)

Day 7: return to Palermo
