So I am i Europe for 2 weeks, between August 1st and 14th. Untill the 8th, I will be in Southern France but after that I will be based in Milan with a relative. I was thinking of staying overnight somewhere before leaving for Venice on the 13th, where I will also stay a night. I found some good hotels in Vicenza, which would probably allow me to see Verona as well. However, Lake Grada seems extremely nice, as does Cinque Terra, and would probably be preferable.
Right now, I am probably leaning…
We're heading to Italy in early October for a friend's wedding, which is being held in Petritoli (about 3 hours by car NE of Rome, and about 20 km from the Adriatic). One thing I'm looking forward to is the location: many friends would have been to Rome/Venice/Florence/5terre/[insert other popular tourist destination here], but I don't know anyone with any prior experience in this part of the country.
We'll be flying in and out of Rome, but I was hoping to tack on a few days after the wedding…
Hey there LP
Next summer I am headed to Italy for a while to visit my Aunt in a village at the base of the mountains in Northern Italy. Can anyone recommend some good hikes or trails? Online searches only do so much (Even if not in North Italy, will have access to car and can get flight) Backpacking experience, strenuous is fine
Also looking for any tips on must see's for someone who is into experiencing culture and the outdoors
Thanks so much for your any lead!

While any and all advice is greatly appreciated (is this the best way to spend a very limited amount of time in Italy?), my big question at the moment is whether I should stay in a hostel in the Riomaggiore or Levanto? I've heard that Levanto has less of a touristy feel but at the same time, the tourists all leave the 5T at the…
I am going to stay over night in pompeii in early september and I have a few questions:
- Is the Campania express train works on saturday/sunday? I couldn't find an english schedule.
- what do you think about the Circumvesuviana trains? I heard that it is not really safe for a female solo traveler
I am planning a two week trip to Rome, Bologna and Paris next January and will be travelling by myself. It's the trip of a lifetime and I've been dreaming about it for ages! I'm going to take the overnight Thello train from Bologna to Paris on a Wednesday evening in mid January, and was wondering about capacity.
I am willing to splurge on a private cabin if I need to, but I've been checking the bookings periodically to see how full they are, and it often looks like I could pay for a…
