My husband and I are travelling to Italy for the first time at the end of Aug / beginning of Sept to celebrate his birthday. We have decided to concentrate our trip on Cinque Terre and Tuscany, although we love to explore, we could really do with a bit of a rest, so trying not to cram too much in. We are hiring a car to travel between places, but have been told driving in Florence is very tricky and best avoided. Having talked with friends we are told that Siena shouldn't be avoided also, so…

Hello there my friends!

I will be arriving in to Venice Marco Polo airport at 23:40 on a Friday night and need to get to Zitelle. I have been told this is a bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma then waterbus N up to Zitelle. I have also been told that the transport in Venice is 24/7. Can anyone confirm it will be possible to get from Marco Polo to Zitelle at this time of night, if so how long would it take?

Hi all. Early planning stages for a trip to Amalfi Coast area and wanted some tips /comments. Looking for best towns to spend a few days in, possible itinerary tips, accommodation ideas for locations that don't have 150 stairs etc. etc. Look forward to hearing your experiences.

We are flying into Cagliari and were hoping to rent a car at the airport, tour Sardinia and then drop the car off at Santa Teresa di Gullari where we will take the ferry to Corsica.
The challenge seems to be that we are unable to find a car rental w/pick up/drop off between these two points.
Surely, we can be the first to have this itinerary!
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I'm flying into Olbia Sardinia for a cycling trip. You can't take gas canisters on planes so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a shop in Olbia that is likely to sell threaded canisters for back packing stoves. If anyone can help I'll be very grateful. Thanks Keith.

Hi,

May I please have some suggestions; will be travelling to Milan on Sept-18 and I need to be in Barcelona for the 21.
Therefore I have plenty of questioning what should I do.

To start i don’t believe staying in Milan to long unless there are places outside the city that our worth visiting.
Maybe travel by bus and visit some places on the way to Barcelona.... so many ...
Have a low budget.

Thank you much for your help

We're a family group of 4 who are going to be landing in Rome on Sep 8 and leaving from Milan on Sep 17. the brad itinerary we have in mind is 3/4 days in Rome, take the train or drive to Florence, 3 days to see Florence and drive around in Tuscany, drive to lake Como, stay a day and take the train to Milan, fly out from Milan.

This is a first trip for 3 of us and the idea is to have a balance between the culture and and countryside and we love to drive. Question is does this itinerary seem…

Hi all,
I’m considering walking Alta Via 1 in September (potentially 12th -21st).

If I go ahead, I am planning to do it on my own. So my main question – is this a good idea?! I am a reasonably experience hiker, fit, strong, determined, confident in my ability and a head for heights. I’ve walked long distance trails, but not on my own. Are there lots of other people doing the trail at this time of year? This would reassure me somewhat, knowing that other people are fairly nearby at most times!

Milan

I'll be in Milan for a week. I'd love to hear suggestions on what to do while I'm there. Mainly sightseeing, walks, or nice digital nomad cafes.

Thanks for any help!
