Lonely Planet review
A legend in the valley, and Michelin starred, this old mill sits at the historic heart of Cavalese. Downstairs, next to the old waterwheels, Alessandro Gilmozzi does playful gastronomic dishes featuring local, seasonal ingredients. Streetside, the casual (though rather stuffy) wine bar does baked-to-order eggs with Trentingrana or truffles, burgers, hearty mains and creative desserts. Excelsior , a cosy nook on the same site, turns out excellent pizzas – don't pass up the one with local puzzone cheese. Attention to detail at all price points is high.
