Lonely Planet review for Magmatrek
Magmatrek has experienced, multilingual vulcanological guides that lead regular treks (maximum group size 20) up to the crater every afternoon (per person €28). It can also put together tailor-made treks for individual groups.

The best on Stromboli
stananson recommends this,
The Magmatrek guides are indeed professional and well-organised. They are also very informative. The trek takes five to six hours, which is hardly rushed. The pace tends to be set by the group itself. There is no running. Group size is determined by demand, and does not vary between trekking companies. You can hire a private guide from Magmatrek if you wish. This is obviously more expensive. It is illegal (and stupid) to climb above 400 metres without a guide. You cannot see volcanic activity from this altitude. Every visitor to Stromboli should experience the summit if they can.

Good and bad things
egonfarland does not recommend this,
Magmatrek guides are professional and well organized, they take you quickly up and down and you'll have what you payed for. But they hurry and you run all the time in a crowded group, and at least one of the guides makes sneering comments if you are too slow. My advice is to take a personal guide with a small group or even better to climbe alone with friends as far it's allowed - than you can stop where you want to wonder at the amazing landscape. If you take the trail from the l'Osservatorio you are able to see the explosions very well.
