Local Transport

Buses and trains are the main options for getting around in Sardinia.

  • All the major towns have a reasonable local bus service.
  • Generally, you won’t need buses to get around town centres, which tend to be fairly compact. In most places, the sights, hotels, and bus/train stations are all within walking distance of each other.
  • Bus tickets (around €1.20) must be purchased from newspaper stands or tabacchi (tobacconists) and stamped on the bus.
  • All three airports are linked by local bus services to their respective town centres.
