The main intercity bus station is on Via Cagliari. ARST buses leave for destinations all over the province, as well as to longer-distance destinations such as Sassari (€7.50, four daily) and Cagliari (€6.50, three daily). Buses leave once every half-hour for the 10- to 15-minute trip to Santa Giusta.

FdS buses travel to Cagliari (€6.10, 1¾ hours, four daily) plus Sassari (€7.75, 2½ hours, four daily); several also head east to Nuoro (€6, two hours, four daily). These buses arrive and leave from Via Lombardia. Buy tickets at Blu Bar (Via Lombardia 30; 6am-10pm Mon-Sat) or on the bus on Sunday.

As many as 20 trains run between Cagliari and Oristano (€5, two hours). Some trains arrive from Sassari and Olbia. The station is southwest of the centre on Piazza Ungheria.
