I'm heading to the Amalfi Coast region alone for the last half of September. Currently trying to squeeze too much in and have decided that I need to choose between Tivoli and Paestum. I'm a Greco-Roman history fan and am interested in both, so I'm having a hard time. Any suggestions from people who have visited either, ideally both?
Current plan is:
I'm flying into Naples, staying 3 nights in Sorrento with excursions to Naples for Archaeological Museum, Pompeii and Herculaneum and hopefully…
Going on a short road trip in our campervan for a friend's wedding in Como next week and wondered if anyone had any suggestions of good places within an hour or 2 from there for us to break up the drive and experience some of Italy?
We will be driving in through the Mont Blanc tunnel and don't really want to go south of Turin or too far east of Como. Also not really interested in the cities or larger towns, but more villages or charming smaller towns. I'm sure Italy is rammed full of…
I land in Milan and want to buy a pre-paid Sim Card at the airport. What is the best company to go with? I intend to mainly use data (whatsapp and google maps) , a small amount of messaging and the odd phonecall (for local reservations etc). I will be travelling on the Ligurian coast, Tuscany, Rome and Sicily.
I know this question has been asked before but previous posts havent been answered very well.
Thanks in advance
My husband and I will be travelling to Italy from September 23-October 10th and we plan to rent a car for the entire time. We are set on visiting Piedmont (Alba), Tuscany (Chianti & Montalcino), Emilia- Romagna (Parma, Modena, Bologna) and Umbria (I haven't decided the towns yet). We will also want to do a day trip to Florence and Pisa. I keep going around and around trying to figure out the best ways to piece this together so I can at least book our flights and car rental.
Maybe someone has…
I am planning to go Cinque Terre from Venice by train around 20th June. Read many travel advice that booking train tickets in advance is recommended. How way in advance should i book the train tickets from trenitalia.com site? Thanks.
Hi everyone, i was wondering if you can advise me with some information.
Me and my girlfriend will take a train from Bari to Salerno this Saturday and spend the next week in the beautiful Amalfi Coast.
I have some concerns because we will arrive at 8pm in Caserta and change the train to a Regional train that will depart one hour later (9 pm) and will arrive in Salerno at 10pm.
Should I be worried wandering around Caserta railway station ?
Are the regional trains safe during evening hours ?
We will be renting a car in Italy with our Visa card. We have the luxury of having insurance provided through the credit card. The representative at the credit card said Italy may require that we purchase a collision damage insurance as well through the rental company. Is this true?
Hello there, I am planning on visiting Naples (been there already many years back) during the week of August 8-14 and would love to visit the city, Costiera Amalfitana, Pompei, Capri, Caserta...I am Italian and very easy going and fun to be around with :) so if anyone is interested in organizing this trip together, give me a shout! cheers Giulio
Hi - can anyone advise on the safety aspect in Naples? I'm hearing quite a lot of warnings and am getting a bit concerned for my upcoming trip. I tend to think security perception is relative (I'm from New York City which many deem terrifying unsafe, yet I've never experienced a bad incident and feel comfortable walking alone at night). While I know it's fairly unwise to wear thick gold chains when going down a dark desolate alley or count $100 bills in the subway, what I'm hearing about Naples…
