Lonely Planet review for Gino
Oh, Gino! Surely the perfect trattoria: quaint, busy and buzzing, dishing out well-executed staples such as rigotoni alla gricia and meatballs under gaudily painted vines. It’s hidden away down a narrow lane close to parliament, and perennially packed by gossiping politicians. No credit cards.

Authentic Roman food
lauradh recommends this,
We came across this trattoria by accident, just happened to spot a tiny sign saying "trattoria" and went for it. We did as the Romans do, had a glass of very nice red housewine, ordered the best caprese (tomato, mozzarella and basil) I've ever had, followed by tender chicken and fall-of-the-bone lamb, accompanied by Roman style artichoke. Thinking back my mouth starts watering again.
The whole experience was topped of by being the only tourists there (which I always love) and watching old Gino, who slowly walked around with plates of tasty dishes and did an excellent job of standing in everyones way. I can recommend everybody to make a small detour to go and have lunch here. We were probably lucky and got a table just before the crowds started pouring in, so it's wise to book ahead!Good for: Romance, atmosphere, food, Solo Travellers, service, Families
