Lonely Planet review for Alle Fratte di Trastevere
A warm, welcoming trattoria with chirpy paintings, frothy curtains, delicious food and outside seating, Alle Fratte is a hit with savvy priests, busy businesspeople and grateful tourists, who enjoy substantial, tasty platefuls of Roman classics washed down with the very quaffable house wine.

Last year I hunted down this restaurant together with my family and ok it was early evening but the staff and the quality of food were fantastic. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly and with the house wine it was value for money. We are returning to Rome with family next week and again will make sure we vist this establishment.

MONEY, MONEY
romelover does not recommend this,
As far as food is concerned, one gets good value for the money. But for a restaurant to be mentioned on the Lonely Planet list might also have its obvious drawbacks. For Alle Fratte di Trastevere these drawbacks unfortunately are all too visible. Tourists poor in, and that means the management sees a possibility to make easy money. Seldom have I experienced such eagerness to get customers out to clear the tables for new ones. The waiters come for your dish long before it’s finished, and the bill is smacked on your table when you’re only half way through the dessert. Fortunately there are other places in Trastevere that combine good cooking with a minimum of service and politeness.
