Find a seat at this tiny brick-arched and wood-panelled place, with its spindly marble-topped tables, and then eat what Ada puts in front of you (there’s no menu). It’ll be simple tasty staples like pasta with tomato sauce and salsiccia con fagioli (sausage with beans). Dessert comes from Ada’s legendary biscuit tin.

    Buonissimo! Excellente!!

    We read the previous reviews and decided to be adventurous. We asked our hotel concierge to call ahead so they were expecting us. Small restaurant (only 5 or 6 tables) so this is recommended. What a find - the food was outstanding, and the waiter delightful (he spoke a bit of English and tolerated my mediocre Italian with a smile) - he is the son of Ada, who passed away in June 2009. We sat communal style at a long table with another family (we were 3, they were 5), who were lovely and we had an overall fantastic evening. They were very tolerant of any dietary restrictions/requests, despite there being no menu. The primi and secondi courses were all delicious, and they bring a small plate of cookies for dessert (which they recommend you dip in the wine and oh yum I recommend that as well!). Simple, delightful, a small hole-in-the-wall that you might otherwise walk right by and not even notice. I highly recommend Alfredo e Ada!!
