Lonely Planet review for Pizzeria da Baffetto
Da Baffetto offers some of Rome’s best pizzas, served in typical wham-bam style. To partake, join the queue and wait for the bustling waiters to squeeze you in – you may have to share a table. To start, try the tasty fried things – courgette flowers, olive ascolane and so on – before moving onto the pizzas, bubbling hot from the wood-fired oven, and as Roman as it gets.

Best pizza we've ever had - amazing place
d9340c recommends this,
My husband and I walked past this place a couple of times and saw queues outside, and looked it up in our LP guidebook out of curiosity. We decided to give it a try and joined the queue one night. Didn't take long until we were seated at a table with a load of others - they just squeeze you in where there's space which is part of the fun.
There a huge range of pizzas on offer, very reasonably priced, and the house wine came in large carafes for a crazily cheap price - it was really nice too :) They do also carry a range of wines for those who would rather select their bottle.
The pizzas were wood fired and really tasty. The tiramisu was a winner too.
Really friendly atmosphere, great food and by far the best pizza I've ever had (and I usually make my own from scratch!). Brilliant price too. And full of both locals as well as tourists.
I can't comment on what this place would be like on your own, but for two or more its a definite must.

Awful experience if you go alone
mb142 does not recommend this,
I had been in this place a few years ago with some friends, thanks to lonely plannet recommendation. I really enjoyed it, so I tried to come back on a short work trip to Rome. I was alone this time. I did all the queu and in the end I was told by the owner that if I was alone I should go to Piazza Navona. I decided to wait despite that and after more than half an hour in the door of the place, they had not offered me a place to eat. I asked what was going on in italian, and was told that I should wait or leave. During that half an hour tables of 2, 3, 4, 5 and even 6 and 7 people were seated. As you share the table with someone else I do not understand how they could not make a little space for me in one of those tables. I left and could not eat. During that half an hour only two or three goups of italian people entered the place, it is clearly getting full of tourists. Apart from that, the table that was next to the door they had already ordered when I arrived and they were served almost when I left, so they are really slowly. I cannot comment on the prices as they were not shown outside. I think that this guide should take this place out of the recommended places. It is clearly an awful place for solo travelers, most of us use lonely planet as a reference, and it simply is a tourist place with bad service.
