Lonely Planet review for Babington's Tea Rooms

More English than the English, and right by the Spanish Steps, Babington's has been serving Earl Grey to homesick tourists since the 19th century. You'll need the kind of budget worthy of a grand tour: a full high tea costs around €29, but what else can you do when you have a crumpet craving?

poor, rude service extortionate rip off

    claire1111 does not recommend this,

Why guide books still promote this tourist trap is a complete mystery. If the unbelievable prices aren't rude enough just wait till you meet the mocking staff. What was meant to be a memorable start to the new year will be remembered for all of the wrong reasons. If you can stomach the price of 30Euros for a pot of tea for two and two tiny scones with jam and cream then go ahead, but the service will certainly leave a bitter taste in your mouth - rude, inattentive simply beyond the pale.
