Lonely Planet review
More boutique chic than backpacker dive, the Beehive is Rome's best hostel; book well ahead. There's a spotless, eight-person mixed dorm or six private double rooms, some with air-con. Original artworks and funky modular furniture add colour, and there's a cafe. Some bright, well-cared-for off-site rooms, sharing communal bathrooms and kitchen, are another bargain (single €40 to €50, double €60 to €80).
Our independent authors have visited The Beehive and selected this as one of our recommended hostels in Monti, Esquilino & San Lorenzo.
Description provided by property
Welcome to The Beehive - a stylish, cosy, eco-conscious ho(s)tel owned by an American couple, Linda & Steve, who came to Rome to follow a dream.
In 1999 we packed up our apartment in Los Angeles and, along with our 2 cats and a Swiss Army knife moved to Rome and opened The Beehive, a unique cross between a budget hotel and an upscale hostel - a place where we want you to feel at home.
Everything about The Beehive reflects our own personal values and the things we care about: friends, family, the world we live in. We not only provide a clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay, but we also love to share with our guests the best locally sourced information that helps you get the most out of your time in Rome and also experience a bit of Rome off the beaten path.
We have a variety of room types so please make sure to read the room type when reserving: dorm beds, private rooms with shared bath & private rooms with private bathrooms. We don't have a kitchen for guests' use at our main facility, but some of our private rooms offsite do have self-catering kitchens. At our main facility, we have an organic vegetarian / vegan cafe that serves breakfast daily and dinners several times per week. Wine & beer are available throughout the day.
Cancellation policy: 48h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or no show, you will be charged the first night of your stay. After check-in, no cancellation or changes will be refunded.
Our reception is open from 07:00 to 23:00. We cannot accept late arrivals after 23:00.
