Teatro Comunale Niccolò Piccinni
Since the destruction of Teatro Petruzelli, Bari's cultural life has undoubtedly constricted, but the Piccinni theatre still puts on a lively programme of dance and opera. There are a couple of other minor theatres such as Teatro Kursaal and Teatro Kismet Opera. But Teatro Comunale Niccolò Piccinni is the oldest theatre in Bari (built in 1854), and is the cultural hub of the city hosting local and international opera, music and dance seasons.

Al Pachino Italian Pub
After the evening passeggiata along Corso Vittorio Emanuele it's time to hit the cathedral, or rather, the streets and piazze out front. Music and tables and chairs from the many bars spill into Piazza Duomo and Piazza de Santis, the action hot spot for Foggia's university crowd. Check out the Al Pachino Italian Pub, so un-Italian with its laid-back lounges and chill-out music.

Another good drinking den popular with the football crowd because of its enormous wide-screen TV. It fills up with regulars late in the evening. Aside from the huge glasses of wine, you can get an excellent meal here. The grilled steak, potatoes and salad is more than enough for two people.

The nearest thing Trani has to a club. Although it has a fairly fancy restaurant, it's best to stick to the neon-tinged bar and dancing, which takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. For popular gigs you have to book.
