Pizzeria Spontini
Munch standing up at this busy little joint, which has cooked the best pizza in the Stazione Centrale area since 1953.

B
Paper Moon
Lust for labels may have brought you to Quadrilatero d'Oro, but this house-made tagliolini with shrimp and zucchini blossoms may inspire you to take up permanent residence. If you can get past the primi (first courses) and the wood-fired pizzas, try the heartbreakingly tender carpaccio with arugula and grana padano cheese with the sprightly white Vernaccia.

Pizzeria Grand’Italia
Favoured by bar-hopping ragazzi as well as families, this Brera institution serves traditional Milanese-style pizza a trancio (by the slab). Paper-thin pizza may be in elsewhere, but thick’s the way they like it round here.

D
Pizzeria del Ticinese
Vaulted exposed brick ceilings, dark wood furniture and a central wood-fired oven make this a warm, cosy place for pizza and beer. Special pizzas made with fresh, organic ingredients make sure it’s packed every night.
