Thinking of basing myself in Alcamo to get away from the trash and crazy driving and business of Palermo. 1) Is this area noisy from the airplanes? I live in Los Angeles, (by Los Angeles International Airport) and would like to get away from airplane noise, on my vacation. (2) Also I read a review that trash is piling up on the beaches; is this true for this area?) Thank you!
I guess I am always thinking about cell phones and data while traveling. Any ideas for southern italy what best sim card and cell phone service might be as well as how much it will cost..

Hello, I'm going to Puglia in a few weeks time, peak season I know so now trying to find cheap (ish) accommodation. Since only going to be there for 5 days we're trying to pack in quite, the first few days doing Ostuni, Locorotondo, Alberobello day trip and then settling in to either Monopoli or Polignano a Mare, the latter is quite a bit pricier but i'm happy to go there if the beach etc is better. Any recommendations?
Also we're heading after that to Lecce and then a beach town is Otranto…
We are a family of four (two kids-2.5 and 5) who will spending about a week in Lorenzago. We will be spending most of that time with friends who have family there but we will also be on our own for a few days. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for any nearby sites or towns that we should visit while we're there? We're very interested in food, art, history, nature, etc. Since the kids are so young we can't be too ambitious with how far we travel but we could drive an hour or maybe…
I fly from London to Bologna.

I will be receiving a student visa from August 8 for 6.5 months. I traveled to italy in March for 75 days, meaning I have 15 days left. So I was thinking to arrive in Italy 14 days before my student visa begins. But AFTER (since 180 days will pass while I'm studying), am I able to do a new 90 days? Perhaps do I need to leave for the UK for a day then return? Please help so I can book my tickets! Thank you!
My wife and I are traveling to Sardinia this September and can't decide which region to stay.
We are looking for good beaches, lively surrounds, nice hotels and great places to eat and drink in the evening.
I'd be grateful for any advise.
Flying into Rome to meet a potential romantic interest and then renting a car and driving down the coast toward Amalfi/Positano/Ravello. Possibly a night in Capri. This will be sometime the last two weeks of August. The objective for us to to connect and not deal with lot's of hassles.
I've been to Pompeii, and Sorrento years ago. Now looking for pretty scenery, charming strolls, and cafes and being relaxed and romantic and chill.
I don't mind dealing with a bit of traffic and tourists... but…
